How is everyone doing this glorious Saturday? Great I hope.
I received loads of great feedback from my giveaway and lots of request for more tutorials. Since Valentine's day is next month why not show you guys a very simple way to spice up your nails for Valentines day.
I will show you how I created this manicure:
For this mani you will need:
- Masking tape,
- scissors,
- Nail polish. (of your choice)
I used:
China glaze - Tree hugger and Ardene - Purple rain
The first thing you will want to do is cut out your heart. I used masking tape but regular scotch tape should work as well.
I folded my tape in haft the sticky part outwards because I wanted to be able to unfold my tape with ease.
It should look something like this:
I don't know if you noticed but on the first photos there is no heart on my Pinky finger. The heart I cut out was a little too big for my little finger, you may want to test it out on your pinky first make sure it fits or cut out a smaller one for it. ( it's up to you really, you don't have to do all of your nails, use your imagination!! )
Now that your heart is ready paint your nails, the color is up to you to decide.
TIP: When working with tape, try to use a polish that is very opaque and doesn't require many coats.
Wait for your nails to dry completely and add the tape, it should look like this:
You can use the same tape for all of your nails if you don't have the patience to cut out a heart for each one.
I used the same tape for my 3 hearts, I just wiped off the excess polish on my tape before each use.
Now that your tape is in place add a layer or two of polish, should look like this:
I usually wait a minute or two before removing the tape. Once the tape removed, add a layer of topcoat and Enjoy. Note that the heart's edge may look a little rough when you first remove the tape but adding a topcoat should smooth things out.
Here's my heart:
VOILA!!
Very simple way to create a Sweetheart manicure for Valentine's day. :)
I hope you enjoyed and stay tuned for more Valentine nails.
